Hands Off the CIA

I can’t say how important it is for us to SUPPORT and stand behind our foreign intelligence services. Seriously Obama you have to watch this, this is the same kind of crap that that screwed up the CIA in the past.

Yes the CIA has a very “colorful” past and it’s when we shy away from that and try to keep a muzzle on the CIA that things get seriously MESSED UP.

Look at past CIA directors like Turner (under Carter) who emphasized basically ONLY signals intelligence and intercepts and satellites… no emphasis on human intelligence gathering, no emphasis on developing real living breathing spies… no emphasis on human operation, an aversion to getting your hands dirty, not wanting to get in trouble, not taking risks.

Another good example, Woolsey (under Clinton) in his 2 years of tenure, i don’t think he ever met with Clinton ONCE and there was the same aversion to risk, playing hands off, being way too conservative—in the sense that the emphasis was almost totally on desk jockeys and research, analysis but NOT in human intelligence, interrogation, espionage…

all the dirty jobs that carry the risk of being found out...but those are the kinds of jobs that get things DONE and KILL America’s enemies BEFORE they kill Americans.

President Obama, Eric Holder, Speaker Pelosi, with their little witch hunts trying to blame CIA agents who DID THEIR JOBS… did what they had to do to PROTECT American national security interests ( principles like “we don’t waterboard people” be damned )

All these do is SCARE the agents, the CAREER intelligence agents, who are the most skilled and are the only people trained to do what has to be done, the dirty work that keeps us warm and cozy and ALIVE back home. It makes them afraid to do their jobs, not wanting to risk their careers and their livelihoods if they think there is a chance they will be charged or investigated and scapegoated for it.

And that leads to weakness and intelligence failures that result in dead Americans.

President Obama, support our CIA and foreign intelligence services, let them do their jobs, let them get their hands dirty without fear of reprisal from the very government they work to protect… or you WILL see innocent civilians KILLED under your watch. You have been warned.

This Tirade in Response to:

A CIA officer who allegedly used a gun to intimidate a captured al-Qaeda suspect was formally disciplined…

...The CIA officer eventually resigned, two former agency officials confirmed Saturday.

Granted, Holder rightly stated that it’s his job to “follow the law.” The problem for the administration is that it’s the president’s job to lead—forward, not backward. And now that Holder has asked a career prosecutor to examine the CIA interrogations, it’s possible he could get a recommendation for criminal prosecutions for CIA agents.

That might please liberals, but that’s about it. And today, former Vice President Dick Cheney made it clear where he stands (as if we didn’t know). “These people deserve our gratitude,” he said. “They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions.”
